I’m Hannah, and this is my
boyfriend Brian.
Hannah's first mountain bike ride, summer 2012
We are both from Pennsylvania: Brian from Macungie (in Lehigh County) and
myself from Williamsport (Lycoming County).
We met while working in a mom and pop type restaurant in the middle of
nowhere, but that is a story for another day and time.
Our present location is Jackson, Wyoming – the most
beautiful place there is!
Grand Teton National Park, Fall 2012
We moved here
in May and have had a fantastic summer enjoying our backyard: Grand Teton National Park, but that’s about
to change! Due to Brian’s constant
desire to eat tacos and refried beans and our shared feeling of wanting to travel before becoming
bogged down with “real world” responsibilities, we are two months out from our
latest and greatest scheme: a 5 month bicycle tour beginning in Cancun Mexico,
hitting Belize and Guatamala before re-entering Mexico and heading home by bike
– and we couldn’t be more excited about it!
Brian works on the golf course at Teton Pines Country
Club. He has the most awesome
commute by bike to work every day. Don’t
you think?
Wyoming Highway 22, Fall 2012
Did I mention that Jackson has awesome Mountain Bike
Trails? Brian spends a fair amount of
time on them in the summer. This summer,
he was patient enough to teach me how to ride which I’m sure he would say
brought a whole new meaning to the past time (due to my unstable physical and
emotional state while on a mountain bike that is)!
West Game Creek Trail, Summer 2012
Within the last year, Brian has gone back to school. He is working toward a Bachelor’s degree in
Turf Grass Management through Penn State’s online program. I’m really proud of him, and his classes
definitely keep him busy. Stay tuned for
school updates throughout the blog as Brian will be completing a semester on
the road!
Brian has rode the Southern Tier Route Cross Country (solo),
the Pacific Coast (with me!), and a 5 week tour of the coast and Andes in Peru
(with two friends from home).
As the bike freak of our relationship, Brian would be
offended if I didn’t introduce his children as well:
Taylor Mountain with Lolita, Salsa El Mariachi 1x9, summer 2012
Fall Creek Road, Salsa Casseroll singlespeed, Summer 2011
Lock Haven, PA gravel awesomeness, Jamis Coda frame Fall 2011
I never, ever thought I would have to do this, but let me
introduce my children as well. Mind you,
I have acquired all of these children within the last six months…
Cache Creek Trail, Trek WSD, Summer 2012
Shirley the Surly resting at Albertson's after her maiden voyage, Surly Long Haul Trucker Midget Version
This summer I worked in reservations at a rafting company,
but currently am completing an internship at the Jackson Hole Chamber of
Commerce. This internship will complete
my bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management from Lock Haven University – and
then I am free!
Recently, Brian and I moved to a smaller apartment to save
money for our trip. We are currently
adjusting to having roommates again and I am coming up with creative solutions
to the lack of cooking utensils that we left behind in our comfortable
furnished apartment.
Since pictures always say it so much better let us leave you with a formal introduction to our weird selves (as cats):

Great job Hannah I am looking forward to your posts...I love Brian's cat! 7 children is a lot don't you think? And if your place is smaller then where do all the bikes live, outside? I hope not
ReplyDeleteNoah! Thanks for reading! Hope you are well. Unfortunately, the children have been split up. Some are outside and some are inside strategically placed in different locations within a six mile radius of our new apartment...short term solution we hope.
DeleteWho are you people? What happened to you since leaving central PA?
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought that you two vagabonds would be headed on such a great adventure?
I'm jealous, good for the both of you.
This blogging stuff is unbelievable.
