Route

The last two weeks have been a bit crazy for us.  An opportunity came up in Jackson that we just couldn't pass down and therefore our plans have changed drastically. Rather than riding from Cancun and back to Jackson, we will be taking a loop around the Yucatan peninsula.

During the first two weeks, we will be seeing what all the buzz is about  while taking in the clear waters and the white beaches of the Caribbean.  We hope to camp on some remote beaches along the way south and ride some remote dirt roads along the coast.  Once we reach the small town of Xcalak on the coast we plan on heading inland and enjoying many of the Mayan ruins in the Yucatan.

The riding may be kind of boring, but we hope there will be plenty of things along the way to keep us entertained such as cenotes, ruins, and small towns.  We will take a few days off to enjoy some of the ancient towns and cities like Campeche, Merida, and Valladolid.

This map is intended to give everyone a rough idea of where we will be heading.  We will be using a GPS and therefore I will update this page every blog post with detailed maps of the route.
